HejHugo Terms of Service

1. Who we are

HejHugo is operated from Canada. These terms govern your use of hejhugo.com and the HejHugo application.

2. Age requirement

HejHugo is intended for use by adults (18 years or older). By inviting a student to use HejHugo, a tutor confirms they have the right and authority to do so, and if that student is under 18, the tutor accepts full responsibility and liability for that decision, including obtaining any necessary parental or guardian consent, and releases HejHugo from any and all liability arising from that student's use of the service.

3. The service

HejHugo lets language tutors record homework prompts in their own voice, assign them to students, and receive spoken replies for review. Tutors pay for access; students use the service for free, invited by their tutor.

4. Accounts

  • Tutor accounts require payment (Founders, Annual, or Monthly plan) and are created via signup.
  • Student accounts are created only when invited by a tutor, via a passwordless magic link tied to the email the tutor provides.

5. Payment, cancellation, and refunds

  • Founders plan: a one-time payment granting lifetime access, limited to the first 100 signups.
  • Annual and Monthly plans are recurring subscriptions, billed automatically until canceled.
  • You may cancel anytime from your billing settings; you retain access until the end of the current billing period, and no partial refund is issued for the unused portion.
  • Refunds: if you're not satisfied, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your first payment (Founders, Annual, or Monthly). Refund requests after 14 days, or for renewal payments on an existing subscription, are not eligible. To request a refund, submit a ticket through the app.

6. Content and recordings

  • Tutors own the content of the lines they record.
  • Students own the content of their recorded replies.
  • By using HejHugo, you grant us the limited right to store and transmit this audio solely to operate the service.
  • We do not use recordings to train AI models or share them with third parties beyond what's needed to run the service (see Privacy Policy).

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use HejHugo to harass, harm, or collect information about anyone without appropriate consent, or to upload content that is illegal, abusive, or violates another person's rights.

8. Disclaimers and liability

HejHugo is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HejHugo is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
